As a technical designer at LPA, I collaborated with architects, landscape designers, and engineers on  K-12 campus developments and renovations ranging from classroom buildings, to gymnasiums, to theaters. As often the only interior designer on a project, I synthesized the needs of mechanical, structural, and electrical systems, the vision of the architect, and the needs of the user. I took projects through a user centered approach from conceptual research and schematic design, to construction documentation, DSA, and construction administration. 

 

Early on in a project, I would perform market analysis, understand programmatic needs, analyze the site and building for constraints, and speak to stakeholders such as the school district.

 

During the schematic and documentation phases, I used AutoCAD and Revit to create iterative drawings including floor plans, elevations, lighting plans, finish plans, interior detailing, exiting diagrams, and interior graphics & signage. I created renderings for client sign off and prepared storyboards, materials boards, and specifications. I also reviewed project scopes, vendor submittals, and performed final walkthroughs once projects were built.
